Do you live in an area with a lot of traffic noise or noisy neighbours? Well, here at Able Party Wall Surveyors, our Decibel Reduction Survey may be able to help.
With a large amount of traffic and high frequency of trains whizzing past, the need for good windows and doors is a must, but how can you decide which the best types to buy are?
Our qualified RICS Surveyors can provide you with a decibel/noise reduction report including recommendations for the best solutions based on your exact circumstances, depending on the noise pollution you are currently living with. While you may think double glazed windows will offer the best solution, installing the right type of glass unit or door could make an even bigger difference.
Here are a few things to consider:
- Seal gaps or cracks around your doors and windows.
- Use laminated glass to reduce certain noise frequencies.
- Install double glazed units away from the noise pollution.
- Ensure the door fits properly to have the greatest impact on noise reduction.
All sound and noise levels are calculated using an “R” rating and it is this that must be adhered to as part of the building regulations 2010 – Resistance to the passage of sound. These rules on new builds or renovations are part of any local building inspectors considerations and, if not found fit for purpose, can be enforced by the local council. To book a noise or decibel reduction survey, simply contact our Customer Services team on 0207 164 6628 or email us at info@ablesurveyors.co.uk. From here, we will be able to organise a specific time for our qualified RICS Surveyors to visit and perform a decibel reduction survey on your property.
Once this survey has been completed, we will then email or post you the report on how to best reduce your level of noise pollution.
